Creating Textile Texture with Lutradur Discover the different ways to use Lutradur to add interest and dimension to textile art. Lutradur is a fun fibre that is a cross between fabric and paper. It can be stitched through, printed on, painted, and distressed, and it will never fray or unravel. It is incredibly strong while remaining delicate and lightweight and is a wonderful base for embellishments and embroidery. In this workshop students will explore the properties of Lutradur to create a series of small works, while learning to add colour, free motion thread sketching, incorporate embellishments such as Angelina and yarns, and use heat to score and sculpt unique compositional elements from this fun and versatile fiber.
