Students will create works based on their own photo inspiration or explore plein-air painting
using the beautiful vistas of Swan Lake and surrounding mountains. You will become comfortable embellishing your work and adding texture using different methods of thread painting and free-motion stitches. Discover the magic of pairing watercolor on fabric and thread painting techniques
to create unique and personal quilted art!

- Water vs medium pencils vs blocks
- Blending colors, creating a background wash, layering, drying time, adding details
- Practice project
- Individual discussion time with each student about their personal project

- Weather permitting, Monique will take interested workshop members to nearby location for plein air painting

- Demo using heavier weight threads, yarns and bobbin work
- Free motion stitching practice exercises working on small sample project from Tuesday
- Monique will be available to meet individually for any questions, suggestions on personal projects.
